THE SAKYA TRADITION
Delivering the Precious Sakya Teachings Accurately and Entirely in Your Native Languages
Dear Dharma Friends,
Losar Tashi Delek!
Wishing you a very auspicious Tibetan new year of the iron mouse!
May this year bring you and your loved ones perfect health, joy, and blessing.
Today also marks the first day of the Festival of Miracles, Chotrul Düchen. This festival occurs on the first fifteen days of the new year. It commemorates the Buddha’s display of miracles in response to challenges from six non-Buddhist teachers and obtained victory. As a result, the Buddha skillfully led many to the Buddhist path and increased the devotion of disciples.
During this period, the effects of one’s positive and negative actions are multiplied ten million times. It is therefore an excellent time to perform virtue, abandon non-virtue, and devote oneself to Dharma study and practice.
To mark this occasion, we share Dharma resources recently posted on our website:
1. How to Overcome Challenges and Difficulties by His Holiness the Sakya Trichen, in audio and video format.
Further, we are delighted to announce the launch of an updated version of the Sakya Calendar app, which is available for free download via iTunes and Google Play. Commissioned by Her Eminence Dagmo Kalden, the app includes information about the activities of the Sakya lineage, Buddhist holy days and anniversaries of Sakya masters, and wisdom quotes from His Holiness the Sakya Trichen and His Holiness the 42nd Sakya Trizin.
Thank you for following our work, and your continuous support. Once again, wishing you Losar Tashi Delek!
Yours in Dharma,
“The Sakya Tradition” Team
