THE SAKYA TRADITION
Delivering the Precious Sakya Teachings Accurately and Entirely in Your Native Languages
Dear Dharma Friends,
Greetings! We wish you and your loved ones well.
Recalling His Holiness the Sakya Trichen’s words that—more than 2,500 years ago—“Buddha was the first person to pronounce equal rights” on the basis that all have buddha nature, we can engage in the profound methods of cultivating infinite loving-kindness and compassion during these times.
Nowadays, there is also increased awareness and urgency to protect the environment. What is the connection between Buddhism and environmental preservation? This month, we are delighted to share His Holiness the 42nd Sakya Trizin’s teaching Ecology, Interdependence, and Buddhism. The text is available in both English and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional). Also, the audio is available here.
This teaching—together with His Holiness the Sakya Trichen’s teaching Global Ecology from a Buddhist Perspective, which we translated and published last year—provides key insights for us.
Earlier, we shared on social media a series about accumulating merit, and a teaching on Buddha’s exalted qualities by His Holiness the 42nd Sakya Trizin. If you have not seen them yet, the short videos are available here.
We are now in the sixth month of our Green Tara Worldwide Mantra Accumulation. As of June 22, we have accumulated 1,465,238,598 Green Tara mantras. At no cost to you, we are sponsoring Tara pujas—on behalf of all participants—on the eighth day of each Tibetan month.
Finally, please note upcoming days for your practice:
June 25: Gyalphur Drubjor,
a highly auspicious day based on Tibetan astrology, associated with the three red deities Kurukulle, Takkiraja, and Ganapati
June 26: Anniversary of Jamyang Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö

The Sakya Tradition Team
